THIS MONTH’S INTERVIEW from WRP GERMANY For the first time, Treysse from Wangenheim attended TEXCARE INTERNATIONAL as Pony’s new sales partner.
Treysse is a family-owned company, established in 1991.
They are now approaching the German market with Pony, Union and Ipso as global supplier for laundries and dry-cleaning shops.
In this month’s interview we spoke with Treysse’s Sales Manager Alexander Kesserling, Pony’s President Paolo Fumagalli, Union’s Sales Director Gabriele Cuppini, and Ipso’s General Manager for North-Center Europe David Vervaet, about their partnership and their targets.
WRP: For one year now Treysse has been working as exclusive dealer for Pony on the German territory. How did you reach this cooperation?
A.Kesselring: For Treysse, Pony has always been a well-known manufacturer of finishing technology with the proper quality of products. They had already contacted us one first time in 2014 to start a possible cooperation. Our conversations turned into reality and on September 1st 2015 both companies agreed on the exclusive sales & technical-service partnership on the German territory. In order to offer our customers a functional, performing, future-oriented technology, it was important for us to strengthen our product line with the Pony brand.
WRP: What makes PONY stand out?
A.Kesselring: Pony means professional organization and processes. Just like Treysse, Pony is a family-owned company. I think they fit perfectly with each other. We cooperate as business partners. Open communications and common solutions are a priority in all this, in order to follow our customers as best as we can. The products of Pony are satisfactory for their reliability, their processing quality, their specific usage possibilities and their finishing-processing results. There’s an optimum solution for every kind of request. All machines fully meet the requirements of the German market. We are greatly satisfied by these products and we can always count on Pony if we need quick solutions to technical issues.
WRP: Mr.Paolo Fumagalli, You are President and Co-owner of Pony: what are the advantages that Treysse represents in your opinion?
P.Fumagalli: Treysse was founded by Eckhard Treysse. Little by little, their well-pondered strategies as well as the commitment of the entire Treysse family, lead their company to being a successful partner for the textile-care industry. It’s a family-owned company – and this is a very important aspect in our mind. As a matter of fact a manager who is responsible for his own company imparts the values of dedication and continuity more deeply than an external manager. Since the beginning of our cooperation, last year, Treysse stood out for their energy, expertise, responsiveness and flexibility. In the future I am sure that this will help them strengthen their role of leaders in Germany. Last but not least, Treysse implemented their offer with standard and/or customized funding systems. NEWS WRP Aktuell „Wir sehen uns als Partner unserer Kunden“
NEWS WRP: Do you sell Pony technology in the whole German territory? How do you handle technical service? Are there any training courses to introduce customers to this technology?
A.Kesselring : Yes, we do sell Pony products across the whole German territory, as well as in Austria. We don’t see ourselves only as service suppliers for our customers, and we are showing this through the products and solutions that we offer. We see ourselves as our customers’ partners towards a guaranteed and successful future. For the fulfillment of such philosophy we are committed to improving our service day by day. We trust in our motto: “Service is not everything, but without service even everything is nothing”. This is why we have a widespread service network, operating through the whole German territory, which includes employees and partners. In particular for laundries we have decentralized technical service. Germany is served by a network of independent, expert and professional partners, divided into 5 areas. So, now laundries are again in direct, fast and reliable contact with our service manager. In our showrooms and classrooms in Wangenheim we have a large range of equipment available for demonstrations and tests. This is very important for the introduction on Pony’s products too. Customers can always find machines in place. Even in 2017 we are going to hold seminars and workshops for wetcleaning, pressing and spotting.
WRP: How was the cooperation between Treysse and Pony developed during the first year?
P. Fumagalli: Since the beginning this cooperation was characterized by frankness, enthusiasm and passion, and it soon brought quite positive results. We share the same philosophy. Both companies put quality, professionalism and commitment in the first place, as well as providing a reliable customer service. This combination can only lead to a positive reaction from the market. We are proud of this and we believe we can achieve common and ambitious goals during this cooperation.
A.Kesselring: I can do nothing but confirm these words. Quality, reliability and service are the basic factors for the development project of our sales in Germany. For both Treysse and Pony the turnover since Sept. 1st 2015 has doubled, compared to the same period last year.
WRP: What is the value of the German market for Landmark manufacturers like you?
Paolo Fumagalli: The German market is competent, careful and demands specific handling. At the same time it is generous, because it gives us essential feedback. We elaborate each single piece of information to keep improving our products. We hold the German market dear, and it’s very important for us, because in the past it was personally handled by Angelo Fumagalli, founder of our company. Now Pony has a great appeal on the German market.
WRP: How do you see the future developments of your exclusive partnership with Treysse?
Paolo Fumagalli: thanks to the organization of Treysse, we are fully confident that our presence in the German market will significantly grow.
WRP: In June we had the Texcare International exhibition in Frankfurt. What are the hallmarks that Treysse set with their partners?
Alexander Kesselring: we were present on all three of our partners’ booths to provide the best presentation of the range. Each one of our partners was showing new and innovative equipment which have received great interest from the visitors. Pony, for instance, met their expectations with their new Eagle shirt unit, their new SMART collar-and-cuff press and their PANTAMASTER trousers press. These pieces really draw visitors and made quite some sales.
WRP: What are the targets for Treysse? Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?
Alexander Kesselring: we are proud of the consistent growth of our company, and we have no intention to stop. For the future we want to be more appealing with our offers and performance. For all three brands – PONY, Ipso and Union – Treysse provides everything, from the starting project to the after-sales service. We wish to keep improving the position we conquered during these 25 years. We will follow strategies of growth and we’ll keep our customers’ satisfaction first. In order to achieve these ambitious targets, Treysse has already strengthened many points. Our motto will still be working in the future: “those who stop improving, stop being worth it”. Our Targets are also supported by all the investments we made in the last years. We enlarged our building, created new showrooms and warehouses and we have invested in personnel. Of course these investments must turn into a real reinforcement in this market and turnover development.
